Message Capital Z of Texas hosted a hill country cruise on Saturday November 15, 2003. Meeting time and location was at 9:00am at the Capital Metro Park & Ride on Lake Creek Pkwy. The weather was not the best for a cruise, but we still had 22 cars show up to make the short drive out to Llano. Z drivers are true enthusiasts as was evident by the number of people coming out in the rain to drive out on some twisty roads. We even had drivers from outside of Austin join us. The furthest being from San Jose, CA.

We gathered everyone together around 9:20 to hand out directions and headed out a little after 9:30. The planned route was to take 183 north to 1431 the head west to 29 then into Llano to stop and eat at Coopers BBQ. The group arrived in Llano shortly after 11:00. We got in line to order some bbq and had quite a feast. After everyone had their fill, we stepped outside to rest and checkout everyones cars. A few of the drivers had other comitments that day and had turned around at Marble Falls on the way to Llano.

Although it was raining on and off the whole time, we decided to head over to the local park to take a few group photos. Apparently word did not spread that we were going to make the stop because 3 of the cars took off and went on back to Austin. The rest of us pulled into the parking lot and pictures were taken. We then lined up the cars to take some panoramic shots. After the final shots were taken, it was time to head back to Austin. The route back was not as twisty so it would be easier to drive on a full stomach. We took Hwy 29 all the way back to 183 then 183 back into Austin.

Everyone was pretty much on their own on the way back to Austin. A few of the faster drivers took quite a fast pace back but everyone made it back safely. It was great to see such a great turnout even with the rainy weather. We had a good variety of Z cars represented as well. There were 240's, 280's, Z31's and Z32's. There were also other Nissan/Infiniti vehicals as well. Thanks to everyone that braved the weather. For those of you that did not make it, you should definitley try and come out for the next one as everyone had a great time.

Here is the route we took:
